BIOAVAILABLE STRONTIUM ISOTOPE BASELINE FOR THE NOVOTEMIRSKIY BRONZE AGE MINE

0,7096 ± 0,0003 (2σ, n = 5). To assess the mobility and provenance of ancient populations, it is necessary to compare their isotopic ratios with local bioavailable strontium baseline (background), characteristic each specific location or potential region an individual artifact. Its definition requires a comprehensive approach analysis heterogeneous samples («proxies») characterizing ecosystem archaeological site under study, identification most suitable proxies, as well unification standardization sampling analytic protocols. A pilot study presented devoted range by example Novotemirskiy Bronze Age mine (Southern Urals). isotope were determined in surface underground water, bedrock (serpentinite), clay from wall, steppe polecat's bone, grass bivalve shell lake. The lowest relative other groundwater, grass, which allows them be used determine combined strontium. Multi-proxy (surface shell) for Urals)

Application of Strontium Isotope Analysis of Bone and Tooth in the Study of Ancient Immigrations

One of the important questions of archaeology is the study of the mobility and immigration of human groups. A common method for addressing these issues is to refer to the artifacts and archaeological findings left behind by the earlier cultures and to compare the forms, motifs, and production methods used among various ancient cultures, and hence, to explore the relationships and cultural excha...

in conjunction with our results, demonstrate that in certain H. pylori strains, CagA plays an essential role in the activation of NF-κB. We acknowledge in our article that CagA may not be the only component that H. pylori uses to activate inflammation. Compelling evidence exists that under some circumstances other H. pylori factors can induce an inflammatory response. For example, CagA clearly ...

Stable Carbon Isotope Evidence for Neolithic and Bronze Age Crop Water Management in the Eastern Mediterranean and Southwest Asia

In a large study on early crop water management, stable carbon isotope discrimination was determined for 275 charred grain samples from nine archaeological sites, dating primarily to the Neolithic and Bronze Age, from the Eastern Mediterranean and Western Asia. This has revealed that wheat (Triticum spp.) was regularly grown in wetter conditions than barley (Hordeum sp.), indicating systematic ...
